Fun fact: In the 1800s Saco was home to 17 sawmills that cut logs from nearby Little Falls Plantation (now Dayton, Lyman, Hollis and part of Limington). In 1827, 21,000,000 feet (6,400,000 m) of sawn lumber was produced by these sawmills from logs floated down the Saco River.
